Russian President Vladimir Putin driving North Korean leader Kim Jong-un
A video featuring Russian President Vladimir Putin driving North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in a Russian-made Aurus limousine has gone viral on social media, highlighting the strengthening ties between the two nations and their leaders. Originally released by Russian state TV, the footage shows Putin at the wheel of the black armored Aurus, his official presidential car, with Kim in the passenger seat. As they drive through a well-maintained park, the two leaders are seen chatting and laughing together. They took turns driving while enjoying a light-hearted conversation during the ride.
Following their short drive, the two leaders are seen walking side by side and conversing along a path in a wooded area. Reports indicate that Putin had previously gifted Kim a Russian-built limousine in February this year and has now given him another one. Kim, known to be an avid car enthusiast, now owns at least two of these vehicles.
In exchange, the North Korean leader presented President Putin with a pair of Pungsan dogs, a breed native to North Korea. A segment aired on the state-controlled Korean Central Television on Thursday showed Kim and Putin observing the dogs, which were tied to a fence adorned with roses. The two leaders bonded over their shared interest in animals, with Kim feeding carrots to a horse while Putin patted it on the head. Additionally, the North Korean and Russian leaders signed an agreement to enhance their military cooperation, including a mutual defense pledge. Kim Jong-un referred to the new relationship as an “alliance.”
