Rahul Gandhi takes a jibe at PM: Could Have halted Ukraine War, But not paper leaks?
On Thursday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the UGC-NET cancellation and the ongoing NEET controversy. Rahul Gandhi took a dig at PM Modi, stating, “It’s been said that Modi ji halted the Russia-Ukraine war. Yet, for some reason, Narendra Modi hasn’t been able to, or doesn’t want to, stop paper leaks in India.”
The UGC-NET exam, conducted on June 18 by the National Testing Agency, was canceled by the Education Ministry on Wednesday after receiving information that the exam’s integrity might have been compromised. The case has been referred to the CBI for investigation.
Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP’s parent organization of capturing the education system, leading to the recurring paper leaks.
“Till the time this is not reversed, paper leaks will go on. Modi ji has facilitated this capture. It is an anti-national activity,” Rahul Gandhi said.
The Congress MP further claimed that university Vice-Chancellors were not picked on the basis of merit but on the basis of their connection to “a particular organization”.
“And this organization and the BJP have penetrated our education system and destroyed it. What was done by Narendra Modi to the economy with demonetisation, has now been done to the education system,” Rahul Gandhi said.
He added, “The reason this is happening and the reason you’re suffering is because an independent, objective education system has been demolished… It is very important
that the people who are guilty here are brought to book and they are punished.”
Rahul Gandhi said that his party would raise the NEET row and UGC-NET cancellation issue in Parliament.
